Introduction to the Industrial Revolution by Kyle Schut and Jordan Miedema

Industrial Revolution

The Industrial Revolution was worldwide replacement of manual labor by hand to machines. It began in Great Britain in the 18th century and continued through the 19th into the United States. It continues to go on in some parts of the world today. The Industrial Revolution was the result of many changes that transformed many agricultural economies into industrial ones. The first changes were the nature of the production: whats was produced and where and how. Goods that were hand made in homes were now made by big machines in factorys. Procutivity and efficiency grew dramatically through application of scientific knowledge to the manufacturing business.

Economic changes caused social changes, including the movement of people to the cities, a greater variety of material goods available, and new ways of doing business. The Industrial Revolution was the first step to modern development. With this modern development came military technology to make the United States one of the most powerful countries in the world in the 18th and 19th centuries.

The Industrial Revolution is called a revolution because it changed society significantly and rapidly.  The Industrial Revolution is one of the most changing revolution of the world. Starting in Britian and moving across the ocean to the United States and still spreading across the world today. The industrial revolution brought a change from the agricultural system to a modern industrial society.
